The Call of God

God called to Moses from a burning bush that was not consumed. Then, He called Moses to go back to Egypt to lead His people out of bondage. (Exodus 3:10) That was a huge undertaking, but it was completely possible, because it was God's will for Moses and for Israel. The truth is that every believer is called by God to complete a significant mission in life. We can learn from the call of Moses, so we can fulfill our calling.

God called Moses because He had prepared him for this already by virtue of his birth in Egypt and the fact that he was raised in Pharaoh's palace. God only calls us to do what He has prepared us to accomplish. He knows our past, our personality, and our spiritual gifts given to us at our conversion. His calling is just what we are suited to do.

God did not call Moses to do it on his own. All Moses had to do was to obey God, and the mission would be accomplished. The same is true for us. God is looking us to be faithful, available, and teachable. If we are FAT, He can use us to do huge things for His kingdom.

The calling God has for us will not be easy, because of our flesh and the devil. However, anything worth doing is difficult. The great thing is that God is Able. Whatever He calls us to do, He is able to do through us with His great wisdom and power.

I pray that we will not shrink from the calling of God, but we will be obedient to the end.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Exodus 5-7.
