God Spoke to Pharaoh in a Dream
Sometimes we read the Bible, and we fail to see the forest for the trees. How many times have you heard the story of Pharaoh's dream of the seven fat cows and the seven skinny cows, as well as, the dream of the seven plump heads of grain and the seven withered heads? What did you take away from that story? I am sure most of us thought of the seven years of plenty and the seven years of famine that were about to occur. That is the correct interpretation of the dream, just like Joseph told Pharaoh. However, don't miss the fact that God communicated with the pagan Pharaoh of Egypt to let him know what He was about to do. (Genesis 41:25,32) In fact, God repeated the dream, so Pharaoh would not miss what was surely going to happen. When was the last time God communicated with you, and what was He showing you?
The truth of the Bible is that God speaks clearly to all kinds of people, believers and unbelievers to show them what He knows they need to understand about salvation and other things of importance. I am sure He speaks to you, as well, but the key factor is how well you are willing to listen to Him. My good friend, Phil, called me from Mexico today and shared with me about his ministry there in a poor rural community. He is allowing the people to read God's Word for themselves, so that God can speak to them directly. His face lit up when he told me how he could see them become aware of the the things of God for the first time. They have not come to know Christ yet, but they will come to that place of decision soon, and they will be prepared because of all that God has already shown them.
I would encourage all of us to get alone with God and listen to Him. Read His Word, the Bible, and let Him speak through His Word by the Holy Spirit. If you have not come to know Christ yet, soon, you will be at that place of decision, too. I pray you will trust Him as Lord and Savior.
