If It Had Not Been For The Lord
One of the most stressful times in life is when someone is angry with us, so that they rise up against us to hurt us. Being a pastor, I have had that happen to me numerous times, and it is never easy. However, I agree with the psalmist, "If it had not been for the the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us alive, when their wrath was kindled against us."(Psalm 124:2,3) Praise God for His faithfulness and His protection.
I have found that people don't get angry at things they should be angry about, but they get angry about things that are not so important, except they are their preferences. Also, I have found that people do not like change. In either case whether disagreeing with another person's preference or changing something, their first reaction is to make a personal attack on the other person. This is Satan's way of getting people to destroy relationships and harm each other, especially Christians. However, God is faithful to us, when we are striving to please Him and to do the right thing in the right way. He protects us and keeps them from swallowing us alive. God is so good!
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 126-129.
