Waiting Patiently on the Lord

Many of us have a problem being patient, but we must be patient when it comes to trusting the Lord.(Psalm 40:1-3) His timing for us is perfect, so we must wait expectantly for Him to answer our cries for His help. We know that He is faithful, so He will answer in the right way and at the right time. Being patient is an act of faith. It shows how much we trust the Lord.

It is extra hard to be patient when we are in a horrible pit. We want out of the pit and the miry clay right now. However, if we patiently wait on the Lord, trusting Him, He will bring us out of the pit and put us on a rock. He will establish our steps so we don't fall into the same pit again. When we are in a pit, it causes us to stop and think about the Lord and why we are there. It is a helpful time, even though it is painful, if we cry out to Him patiently and in faith.

Finally, He will put a new song in our mouth in the end. We will sing His praise for we will have come to know something new in His character through our problem. The testimony we give about the pit will lead others to know the Lord. They will see the power and goodness of God by how He delivered us from the pit.

See what I mean? Patience is important. Let's pray and wait to see what God does to lift us out of the pit. Let's sing the new song loud and clear for all to hear.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 41-43.
