In the Secret Place of the Almighty
There is a secret place of the Almighty God that most people do not know exists.(Psalm 91:1,2) It is a place where we can be under the shadow of God, very close to Him. In His secret place we find He is our refuge and fortress, because nothing can get to us that does not go through Him first. We all need to know how to enter that secret place.
First, we must come to know Him as "my God," not just God. This only happens when we trust Christ as Lord who died and arose to forgive our sins. There is a huge difference when we have a personal relationship with the Almighty. It is possible, because He desires a close relationship with each of us, but we must put our trust in Him and Him alone for this to happen. It is not simply trusting Him to take away sins. It is trusting Him as Lord of all.
Then, we draw close to Him in prayer and reading His Word, so that we see Him clearly and we know what He is like. We begin to be comfortable, even eager to run to Him each day for every need, not just in times of crisis. I believe, it is at this point that God says to us, "Come into the secret place." It is the place just for us, and we can dwell there, not just visit. We live in His shadow all of the time. Living there is the ultimate destination in life on earth. It is the next best thing to heaven.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 93-95.
