The Master House Builder
On this July 4, 2013 we would all do well to remember Psalm 127:1 which assures us, "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain." This spiritual truth applies to countries, cities, and other organizations, as well as, families. God is the only builder who really knows how to build well and to protect what He builds from destruction.
Jesus referred to the "house" when He told us "every city or house divided against itself will not stand."(Matthew 12:25) This brings a vivid word picture to my mind this morning. Could you build a house with two different builders trying to build two different sets of blue prints at the same time? I don't think that would work, but that is what seems to be happening in America today. If we are going to build a lasting, healthy country, we will have to decide on the Master House Builder and follow His instructions.
Of course, I could go on with this analogy to remind us that if we build our house on the sand, it will fall when the storms come, and they will come. There is no other foundation that can be laid for any life or any house that will last other than Jesus Christ. He is the Rock. He is the Truth. Our forefathers knew this truth. They allowed for diversity, but they placed their dependence on the One True God. Yes, some of them were not believers; they were just deists. However, even then, they were building the house together, and they were following His truth.
Let's pray that America will see the folly of two different builders with two sets of blue prints. Let's decide to be good representatives for the Master House Builder, so all people can know Him and allow Him to build their house and our house, the USA.
