Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem
Do you want to receive a blessing today? Also, do you want to take part in God's plan for the world? Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. God promised Abram about 4,000 years ago that anyone who blessed him and his descendants would be blessed. Then, the psalmist reminded us of this when he encouraged all of us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.(Psalm 122:6)
Jerusalem is God's city. One day Jesus will reign over the earth for 1,000 years from a throne in Jerusalem. There are a lot of things that will transpire before that takes place, and a lot of them will happen because those who hate Israel and the Lord will try to destroy the city of Jerusalem and the Jewish people. Therefore, we, as believers, need to heed the Bible and pray for the peace of Jerusalem. It is a way that we can join with the Lord as He works out His plan for the end of the world as we know it.
God still loves the Jewish people even though most of them have rejected Jesus, as Lord and Savior. He is faithful to the covenant He made with Abram, even if they are unfaithful to their part of the covenant. Isn't it just like God not to cast them off fully, but to keep working with them, so that one day many of them can come to know Jesus and have eternal life? It is a great example of the unfailing love of the Lord for all people.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 125-127.
