Eyes Wide Open
Most of us know the story of how God opened the mouth of Balaam's donkey, but do we think about how God opened Balaam's eyes? That is the most important thing about this wonderful story from God's Word. God opened the eyes of a pagan sorcerer, so that the Holy Spirit led him to see a vision of Almighty God and deliver 3 blessings on God's people. What an amazing truth for all of us!
There is not a person on the planet who can honestly say that God has not revealed Himself to him or her. Just think about this story. Read Romans 1:18-32. It is abundantly clear that God is able to show Himself to anyone, no matter their spiritual condition. He does show Himself to all of them, because He loves them. Then, they have to decide to fully trust Him as Lord of all and Lord of their lives.
There is no clear indication in the Bible that Balaam ever trusted God fully, even though God opened his eyes and spoke to Him by the Spirit. How sad! The same is true for multitudes around us each day. They are going to Hell with eyes wide open. They know God is there. They know He loves them, and He wants them to trust Him. However, they go their own way because of culture, family, or the flesh. Please, listen to what God is saying to you and surrender to Jesus, once and for all.
