Eternity
Many people wonder what will happen after they die. Eternity is a long time, so we best be sure where we will spend it. The Bible is very clear about how those who know Christ as Lord and Savior will spend eternity.(Revelation 22:4,5) In fact, the last two chapters of the Bible give a lot of details about this, though some of it is symbolic, the message comes through load and clear.
We will see the face of Jesus. Need I say more? We will dwell in the presence of the Lord, basking in His light forever. His name will be on our forehead, which shows we are His, a permanent member of His family. He will be the light of heaven, no sun or moon needed. He will be the center of everything. Because of this, we will have a perfect knowledge of Him and His will. Therefore, we can and we shall reign forever and ever. Yes, we will have responsibilities in heaven for eternity. We will not be bored.
How will we reign? We will do whatever He gives us to do. That is what we are doing now, if we are living for Him, and we will simply continue for eternity. The difference will be the perfect relationship with Him and the perfect knowledge of His will.
What a life! It is there for all who trust Christ, as Lord. I pray that we all are ready for eternity with Him. The alternative is completely opposite. I don't even want to think about it or talk about it, none of us should. It was prepared for the devil and his angels. However, anyone who dismisses the advances of the Spirit and rejects the Lord's revelation of Himself to them, will spend eternity there with Satan.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Genesis 1-3.
