Follow The Leader
God gives leaders in the church for a reason. He communicates with the leaders, so that they can lead the church family to accomplish His will. Yes, everyone can hear from God, but it is much better to have a unity behind the leader God has given to that church.
When King Hezekiah became king in Judah, he did what was right in God's eyes. Soon the people could see that God was directing him and blessing his reign. Therefore, the Bible tells us that "the hand of God was on Judah to give them singleness of heart to obey the command of the king and the leaders at the word of the Lord." (II Chronicles 30:12) Unity behind godly leaders is a very good thing. That is why God's hand gave them this unity.
My prayer for every church family is that they are able to have this singleness of heart to follow the leaders, if the leaders are following God and His Word. Then, we could see much progress in the kingdom for the glory of God.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Chronicles 31-33.
