The Proof That God Exists

There are many convincing proofs of God's existence, like the Cosmological Argument and the Teleological Argument. Each has its way of showing that God must be real. However, there is a simple one that God Himself told us in Romans 1:18, "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness." God always punishes ungodliness and unrighteousness, which is sin. There is no other explanation for the fact that all people around the world experience the consequences of doing wrong every time they do it. He does not zap them with lightning or cause serious physical pain in every case, but He does show His anger at their sin, and they have a knowledge of His anger in them.

This could not be the result of culture, because there are different rules in different societies. The only explanation is One Sovereign God who ordained right and wrong, good and evil, and He enforces His truth everywhere with everyone in His own perfect way. As He does this, He reveals Himself to them in our hearts.(Romans 1:19) Therefore, He proves His existence and His goodness to us.

Take a minute to consider your life. Even when you did not know you were doing wrong, you were aware of God's wrath. He did that to show you your sin, and to show you His righteousness. Then, you could accept your sin and turn to Him for forgiveness, or you could rebel against God and go your way. Most people choose to rebel, but He is faithful to give everyone many opportunities to trust Him.
