Being Missionaries to Our World
Every believer is supposed to be a missionary. It is the very essence of being a Christian. Believers are to be like Jesus, and He was the greatest missionary. He left Heaven to come to us as the God-Man. He reached out to us by coming to us and becoming one of us. If we are to be like Him, we will figure out how to reach those around us, too.
It all starts with obedience to God, but it is more specific than that. God gives every believer the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God with us to give us abilities to do His will. We call them spiritual gifts. It is God's will for us to use the gifts to reach people. Therefore, we are all unique in the way we do our missions. However, we are uniquely effective, as well. There are some people God can use you to reach that it would be much more difficult for someone else to reach. Therefore, we all need to do our part to share Jesus in a relevant and loving way, so all the world can hear the Good News of salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Ezra 2-4.
