Run For The Bun

Do you have your running or walking shoes ready? It is time to get ready for the third annual "Run For The Bun" 5K race/walk to support the ministry of the Pregnancy Resource Center of Henry County. This year the race is at 4 PM on Saturday, April 16. The race begins and ends at the First Baptist Church of McDonough. Last year we had 500 runners and walkers, in spite of rainy weather. This year we are praying for 700.

I have the privilege of serving on the board of the PRC, and I want to urge all of you in the Atlanta area to participate. Also, it would be great if everyone would make it a matter of prayer. Our center sees dozens of babies saved each year and many souls come to Christ. Each person, unborn and born, has been created in God's image, and each is worthy of our prayerful support.

There are three ways you can help. You can be a sponsor of the race. Sponsorships begin at a donation of as little $250. Your name or company logo or church logo is included on the Run For The Bun t-shirt. If you want information about the levels of sponsorship, let me know, and I will email you a sponsor form. Also, you can donate food, goodies, or prizes for the participants. This is a way to advertise your business, as well. Finally, you can be a runner or walker. It is a lot of fun. You get a t-shirt, and we have a lot of fun activities before and after the race. There is even a prize for those who finish with the best times in their age bracket. All of this for a donation of $15 for an individual, and church groups are even less. Alicia Hodges is our race director, and she can answer any of your questions, too. You can email her at runforthebun@gmail.com.

Just think of how much fun you can have with us, while supporting a worthy cause. Oh yeah, there was one more thing I was going to say. Do you know why we call it the "Run For The Bun?" Sometimes, a baby in the womb is referred to as a "bun in the oven." Therefore, we are raising money so more buns can stay in the oven until they are ready to be born into this world. Your contribution could save a life or help reach a soul for Christ. I hope you will join with us this year.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Deuteronomy 22-24.
February 22 – I Chronicles 4:9-10
Use the prayer of Jabez to pray for yourself, your family, and our church family. Each phrase is important, so consider the meaning and pray it with understanding. Ask God to show you how to make it personal for each one.
