Spiritual Warfare
We are in the midst of intense spiritual warfare. I don't mean Chris and I or our family. I mean all of us. There is a fierce war going on between the forces of Satan and the army of the Lord. It is a war that many believers do not even think about in the course of a day. That is a tragedy, because Satan will defeat them without any trouble when that is their mindset. We must be vigilant to stand firm in the power of the Spirit and the Whole Armor of God to resist Satan and see Him flee from us.
We are accosted each day by the world, the flesh, and the Devil. We lose whenever we surrender to what the world or the flesh wants us to do, even if the Devil has little or nothing to do with it. Instead of giving in to worldly or physical pleasure, we need to stand fast on God's truth and reject falsehood. We can do that only when we abide in Christ, but it is well worth it.
I am heart broken about ruined lives, broken families, and failed marriages. None of these things need take place, if we fight the good fight of faith and trust the One who gives us the victory, Jesus Christ, our Lord. We must order our lives to allow Him to have His way in our minds and hearts being transformed into His likeness. Then, we have won the spiritual war, because Satan can't defeat us. I pray that we will get into the battle and press on to victory in Christ, instead of experiencing lives of defeat.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Chronicles 13-15.
