A Good Start

Our first worship service in the new worship center was wonderful. It was very fitting that the youth praise band led in the service, since we did not build the worship center just for our comfort, but to reach all generations for the Lord Jesus Christ. Steve and the team did a great job of leading us in hymns and songs, and they did a good blend of upbeat songs and slower songs. It was very uplifting. When you combine the music with the video and the power point, it was just what I think worship is all about. I strongly believe we are to be a 2008 church, because we are ministering to the people in America in 2008.

I was amazed at the guests who cared enough to come out today, too. I am not sure how they got the word of our first service in the new worship center. Hopefully, they were invited by members. However, it was an affirmation to me that God is going to use that building to build His church and His kingdom.

You never know what to expect when you tackle something completely new, but we had a good start this morning. The welcome team did an excellent job of making our folks know that we care about them. Our ushers and sound booth team did very well, too. It took a team effort, and it was great to see everyone pull together. That's how it needs to be. We are not in this for ourselves. It is all about Jesus, lifting Him up and bringing folks to Him. That is exactly what happened today, so that was a blessing to me.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Proverbs 22-24 and II Corinthians 8.
