Making Something Good out of a Bad Situation
How many times in your life have you seen God cause a very bad situation to turn into something good? Most of the time it is almost impossible to see how anything good can come from the difficult circumstances, but it is a tribute to the power and wisdom of God. He can and does work miracles.
Think of Joseph. He is the classic example. His brothers sold him into slavery. He was put in jail after being falsely accused by Potiphar's wife. Then, it seemed he was forgotten in the prison. However, God brought him out and made him second in command in the most powerful country in the world at that time, Egypt. Then, he was used to save his family and thus, save God's people from the famine. He told his brothers that they had meant what they did for evil, but God had used it for good.
Of course, there is an important element in all of this. Romans 8:28 reminds us that God does these kinds of things for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. Joseph was faithful to the Lord all the time he was suffering. The result was God's blessing. The same can be true for any believer who loves the Lord. God can take a broken life or a sad situation, and He can bring wholeness and joy.
