The God Who Restores - Psalms 60-62 and Romans 5

David cried out to God for restoration. He knew that God was the only one who could make things the way they ought to be after they had departed from His design. We all need restoration from time to time, because we all depart from God's design. We all sin, even if it is unintentional. We need to realize like David that the help of man is not what we need to restore us. We don't need a self-help book or a psychologist. We need the power of the Lord. When we are overwhelmed, we need the Lord to lead us to the rock that is higher than we are. We need God to lift us up and establish our feet firmly on Him once again. That is one reason we need an unhurried time with the Lord. We need to wait silently for God alone, as we listen expectantly for what He has to say to us. Then, our souls can be restored, as we begin to obey Him, again.

Romans 5 is the ultimate chapter on restoration. What was lost by Adam and his sin was restored by Jesus Christ. The relationship with God that was broken was reconciled. Jesus came because sin had corrupted everything, and He was the only one to restore the original design of God. It is only through His sacrificial death that this could have happened, but He did that for us while we were still in our sinful, broken state, so we could be restored. He gave us the hope of being as God designed us. God is the God of restoration. What kind of restoration do you need in your life? Take that part of your life to the creator of the universe, and He can and will remake it back to the way He designed it to be. Then, you can experience the life He planned for you.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 63-65 and Romans 6.
