A Ministry for You Alone

I hope each one us, as Christians, know we are special. Yes, we are special to God. He saved us, and He gave us spiritual gifts that are just right for us to do the ministry He has prepared for us. Then, the Holy Spirit shows us what God has planned for us to do. Our part is to use the gifts of God to accomplish His will to the best of our ability. Then, we give Him all of the glory, because we know we could not have done it without Him and His blessing.

I believe that is how the sons of Zadok felt during the Old Covenant. God gave them a designated ministry in the Temple. (Ezekiel 40:46) "The room beside the south inner gate is for the priests in charge of the altar - the sons of Zadok - for they alone of all the Levites may approach the Lord to minister to Him." That was a great privilege and a very important ministry. However, it was not any more important than the other ministries. The door keepers were just as special to God as the sons of Zadok. Let me explain.

God is looking for our obedience to Him. He put the whole plan of redemption together, and He is carrying out His plan. He has gifted us, so He can use us to carry out His plan. We are like a piece of a puzzle. If we do not do our part, the puzzle can't be complete. Also, if we don't do our ministry, God can't bless us for our obedience. He has to use someone else to do what we were designed to do. Let's not let that happen.

It is so important for each of us, as believers, to ask the Spirit to show us our spiritual gifts. Then, we need to submit to the Lord, so He can show us how to grow in Him and to be strong to serve Him. Then, we need to listen to God to show us what ministry He has planned for us. We need to do it in His way, not ours. When we do it, we need give Him all the glory, and never be prideful. Then, we will be ready to stand before the Lord in the Judgment, to give an account of our life.
