Total Confidence in God
As I have said many times, we have many challenges in life. When we come to a problem or a need, we have to decide what we are going to do, and we have to decide who we are going to trust to help us. If we put our trust in other people, we will be let down. The only way to be fully assured that things are going to go the way they should go is to have total confidence in God's power and provision. To do that we must be sure that He is Lord of all and that He can and will do what is necessary and right every time.
Jeremiah had come to that point in his life. People rejected him and wanted to harm him, but he kept trusting in God alone through the challenges. (Jeremiah 17:14) "O Lord, if You heal me, I will be truly healed; if You save me, I will be truly saved. My praises are for You alone." I love this sincere statement of the prophet's total confidence in God, and I hope we can all say the same thing. If not, we need to do a heart check.
We all get sick. We go to the doctor, and we take medicine. We do what the doctor says and sometimes we even have some surgical procedures. There is nothing wrong with doing those things. However, at the same time we need to realize that only God can bring true healing. If He heals us, we are truly healed. If it is only what men can do, we are missing out. We need to trust God to heal us, if He does that is great, if He chooses not to heal us, He will help us with whatever comes.
The same goes for salvation and deliverance from our problems. God is the Only One who can save us from our sins, our enemies, and our problems. If we put our trust in ourselves, in others, or in anything else besides God, we will not experience true salvation. When God delivers us from anything, we are really free. Because of God being the Lord of all, He deserves all of our praises, giving Him and no one else the credit for being the One who heals and saves us. Let's all have that confidence and give Him those praises.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Jeremiah 18-20.
