God's Ways are Holy
I have to admit that I am very habitual in all that I do. I have my way of doing things, and I do them that way every time. Of course, if I find out that my way doesn't work, then I change, but most of the time I am very content to do things my way without variation. This is probably not the best way to live. I should be more open to trying new ways to do the things I do. This is especially true when it comes to spiritual things. I need to really search for God's ways.
The psalmist told us something that we always need to keep in mind when it comes to the ways to do things. (Psalm 77:13) "O God, Your ways are holy. Is there any god as mighty as You?" God is holy, so His ways are holy. His holiness ensures that He is the Mighty God, because His ways are so much better than any false gods or any person in the world. We would all do well to make sure that we learn God's ways so we can accomplish all we need to do well.
There are two sides to being holy. The positive side is that when we do what is holy, we always do the right thing in the right way. This is not a regular human trait. That is why God tells us that His ways are not our ways, but His ways are higher than our ways. (Isaiah 55:8,9) God is trying to get us to see that the only way to do the right thing in the right way all of the time is to get to know His ways by studying His Word and drawing near to Him in prayer, so that we see and do things from His holy perspective, not our way.
The other side of being holy is never doing the wrong thing or doing the right thing in the wrong way. Both of these things are very possible for us as humans, because we are all sinful, so we are prone to doing the wrong thing, and even when we do the right thing, we might have the wrong attitude or motive for what we are doing. Therefore, we need to be diligent to obey the commands of God in His Word and to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us in every decision, so we do not do what is wrong. It is possible to begin to live by God's holy ways, but we have to make that our goal and allow the Spirit to conform us to God's ways.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalm 78-80.
