God's Revelation to Future Generations

God created the heavens and the earth. Ever since then He has been actively ruling over His creation. He decided to make human beings in His image, so He could have fellowship with us. Then, because sin entered the human race, God had to provide a plan of salvation that involved Jesus coming to earth to die and rise again for sins to be forgiven and people to have eternal life. Everyone in the world needs to know these things, and they need to be passed down to future generations, so God has a plan for that to happen.

David was inspired to write Psalm 22, and it contains a lot of prophetic facts about how Jesus would come to die for our sins. Then, at the end of the psalm he gives another prophecy that we need to think about today. (Psalm 22:30,31) God told David that their children would serve God also, and future generations would hear about the wonders of the Lord. He prophesied that the righteous acts of God would be told to those not yet born, and they would hear everything He has done. That is a profound statement that has come true. Let's think about how it has been fulfilled.

One way the future generations have heard about the wonders of the Lord is that people have been faithful to pass on what they have seen and heard. It is a part of knowing God and seeing that He is so gracious, loving, and powerful. When we see it we just have to tell it to our children, grandchildren, our neighbors and friends. The saints have done this down through the ages so that others have heard about everything He has done. This has been a powerful witness so that all people could come to trust the Lord.

However, something else happened that David could not have known about in his time. God inspired all of His story to be written down in 66 books. Then, the books were copied over and over until the printing press was created. Then, millions of copies we printed and sent around the world in many languages. Then, the Internet was created and now the message of God's wonders and His story have filled the earth in a myriad of ways. See what I mean? David's prophecy has come true and it is still coming true every day, until the whole world knows.
