God Knows Our Weakness
I am trying to stay in shape in my old age. I walk 3.2 miles as fast as I can first thing in the morning. Then, I do exercises, including weights, planks, and core exercises to help my bones stay strong. All in all I walk at least 10,000 steps a day. I know these things help me, but I am still very aware of my frailty and weakness. I am constantly praying for God to give me strength and stamina, and I am thankful that He knows just what I need and supplies it.
David had a good understanding of God and His nature. He also had the correct view of us humans. We all need to hear what God had shown him. (Psalm 103:13,14) "The Lord is like a father to His children, tender and compassionate to those who fear Him. For He knows how weak we are; He remembers we are only dust." How is that for good description of us, so we won't have an inflated view of ourselves and our strength? I think it is right on.
We all need to remember that when God made Adam, he took the dirt, and He used it to fashion Adam's body. Everything He used to make us is found in the dust we sweep and vacuum up every day. Yes, God knew just how to put these things together to make a human being who could live, and breath and have being, but it still means that we are basically weak, no matter how many exercises we do or how well we eat. I believe this fact will keep us from trying to do things and getting hurt when we are not strong enough.
Also, I believe it helps us to always look at God as our Good Father, who is tender and compassionate toward those who fear Him. He is not a drill instructor type of Father, even though He can be hard on us when we need it. Since He knows our frame, He has compassion on us. That means He suffers with us. It hurts Him to see us in our weakness, so He is quick to give us extra strength and to give us wisdom to know how to manage what we need to do, in spite of our weakness. That reality should keep us all going when we feel weak, and unable to cope with things in our lives.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalm 104-106.
