Special Skills from God

 People have all kinds of gifts and talents. These things are built into our DNA. They are passed down from our parents, grandparents, and other relatives. We use these talents to make a good living for ourselves and our families. That is God's design in how He made us as human beings. However, there are also special skills given to us by God after we are saved. Those special abilities enable us to carry out God's ministry in His way.

When God commanded Moses to build the Tabernacle and the people brought all of the materials to construct it and to make all of the items to be used in that place, He picked out people He had given special skills to accomplish the work. (Exodus 35:35) He had given these people special skills as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple, and scarlet thread on fine linen cloth, and weavers. They excelled as craftsmen and designers because of God's blessing. God is still giving His people special skills today.

I am afraid that many Christians never given much thought to the way that God has given them gifts. Every Christian has spiritual gifts. Once we are saved God gives us these gifts, so we can do the ministry He has planned for us. Each of us is unique, and He has a special set of gifts to go with our talents and personalities. When we know our gifts and use them well, we will bear much fruit for the Lord. That is His will. 

Not only that, but we will have a very satisfying and fulfilling life, if we will discover our gifts and put them into practice. We can't really be happy and enjoy the favor of God in any other way. Therefore, we need to read what God's Word says about Spiritual gifts, ask Him to show us which ones are ours, and then use them in the power of the Holy Spirit. I would encourage all of us to do this and to see how God blesses us and others for His glory..
