Being Content
I was saved when I was 14 years old. It was Palm Sunday at Peachcrest Baptist Church. I gave my life to the Lord, and Jesus washed away my sins. That was the greatest experience in my life. The burden was lifted. I was set free. His grace has sustained me these 55+ years, and now I have come to another wonderful experience in my Christian life. I am fully content with my life, and there is nothing I need since I have Jesus.
That is what Paul told the Christians at Philippi about himself. (Philippians 4:11) He was not talking with them about needing anything, because he had learned to be content in whatever state he found himself to be in. That is a glorious condition. I pray that all of us as believers will learn how to be content and to enter into that condition of life.
I am content with the clothes I have, even though I am sure my family and friends would like for me to upgrade my wardrobe from time to time. I am content with my house. Yes, it could use some new flooring, and the paint could be spruced up, but it is just fine with me the way it is. My truck has a few dents, and it is getting old, but it is more than adequate for me. I am content with everything the way it is now.
On a personal note, I must say that I am content with being single. God saw fit to take Chris home to be with Him in heaven. I miss her, but I am OK. He had His reasons for that, and I don't need to know them. He always does the loving thing and the right thing, so I trust Him fully. I am content with doing the chores and ministering at the church at the same time. I am ready to do whatever God wants me to do, and I will be content in it. Praise the Lord!

Tomorrow, I intend to read Colossians 1-3.
