God, Magnify and Sanctify Yourself

The prophesy in Ezekiel 38 and 39 has always been of great interest to me. It tells of a great war that will happen. The nations from the north and some from northern Africa will gather to fight against Israel. God will intervene in a spectacular way and put an end to the war in His unique way. I do not think this war is the battle of Armageddon when Jesus comes back the second time to reign in Jerusalem. I believe it happens before that, and it could happen at any time now.

Ezekiel is shown this war in great detail, and we can read all of the names of the nations, even though they are not the same names we use today. It is probably referring to Russia and Iran, maybe others from the north and those from northern Africa. (Ezekiel 38:23) The result will be that God will magnify Himself and sanctify Himself, and He will be known to many nations. Then, they will know that He is the Lord. There will be a huge earthquake, and God will rain fire and brimstone on the enemies of Israel. There will be no doubt this is God acting on their behalf.

I believe that we as Christians need to read these two chapters and be called to prayer. We believe God's Word, and we know that this is what our world needs right now. I know that God is going to go according to His plans, not ours. However, I believe He responds to our prayers, too. I believe we need to pray for God to magnify Himself to the nations of the world, so that they will see Him and know that He is the Almighty God of the universe. Then, there could be a great revival in our world.

Also, I believe we need to pray for God to sanctify Himself in the eyes of the nations, so that they will all see His holiness. Sin is so rampant, and it is so accepted. It would be so great if God would show the nations what is right and wrong. If He would stand against evil and stand up for what is right in a powerful way, people could come to know Jesus, as they repent of their sins and turn to Him to forgive their sins by the blood of the cross. Please, consider praying this kind of prayer, so many people could be saved before it is eternally too late.
