Rally Together

I remember in high school that one of the best things that we did was have "pep Rallies" during football season. The whole student body would go to the gym, and the football team would be seated on the stage in front of us. The cheerleaders would lead us in all of our school cheers, and sometimes the band would even play the fight song. It was great to rally together in support of our team and our school.

When Nehemiah was in the middle of leading the effort to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, the enemies came out saying they were going to attack them to stop the work. Nehemiah's plan for this was simple. (Nehemiah 4:20) He told the people that when they heard the trumpet sound, they should rally together at that place. Then, he assured them the Lord would fight for them. Both of those aspects are so important.

We need each other, especially when it comes to fighting against spiritual enemies. That is why we have churches. Our brothers and sisters in Christ are supposed to be there for us. When we sound the trumpet that we have a need, all of the church family should rally to our side in an effort to work together to overcome any problem or challenge.

At the same time we know that we can't win the battles by ourselves. That is true even if we are a huge multitude. We come together in unity, and the Lord comes to fight for us. He gives us strength and wisdom when we come together and trust Him for the ability to do His will. I pray that each of us has a good church that will rally to us in our time of need, and that we all know the Lord will fight for us in those times.
