Salvation from the Lord

I know I have written about this several times before, but I just feel like it is the message I need to share today. As I was reading God's Word, I was asking God to show me which verse to share with others today. I prayed about several verses, but my heart kept coming back to the one that spoke of salvation coming from the Lord. I know most of us know this fact, but perhaps some need to hear it again, or some need to receive this message for the first time.

Soon after Saul was anointed as king of Israel, the Ammonites came against the people of Jabesh Gilead.  They needed help, so they sent out word and Saul called the troops together to protect them. They won a complete victory. (I Samuel 11:13) He would not kill any of his detractors, but he let everyone know that the Lord had accomplished salvation in Israel that day. Saul humbly pointed to the power of the Lord for salvation.

Just think of the great power of God to cleanse us from our sins, give us a new heart, and adopt us into His family. Jesus had to become the God/Man, live a sinless life, die on the cross for us, and rise again. Only them could we have salvation from our sins by grace through faith in Him. We would never do that ourselves. We need to give God all of the glory.

Also, if we are going to live the Christian life today, we have to receive that salvation or deliverance from the Lord. Not that we have to be saved again, but we will have all kinds of enemies and challenges. We can only overcome them with salvation that comes from the Lord. He is so wise and powerful and loving to care for us and give us salvation from these things each time that we trust Him. Therefore, every day the Lord accomplishes salvation for us, as we follow Him.
