Being Known by God
We get to know a lot of people in our lifetime. Some of them stick in our memory, and some are soon forgotten. There are a good number who make a solid impression on us for various reasons. There are those who show love in a unique way, and there are those who are very loyal. It is great to be known for doing the right thing well.
I wonder what God thinks about when He thinks of us. Nahum tells us one thing for which we can be known by God. (Nahum 1:7) He tells us that the Lord is good. He is a Stronghold in the day of trouble, and He knows those who take refuge in Him. That is how we should want to be known by God.
One of the worst things we can do in life is to try to handle all of our troubles in our own power. That is a recipe for disaster. We will always mess things up, because we have limited knowledge, and we have even less power. We need to put aside our pride and humble ourselves before the Lord because He is good. He will always do the right thing to help us out of our trouble.
God is so powerful and strong. He is like a fort into which we can run when we see trouble coming. When we do, we are secure, and we can rest in Him. He loves to see us coming, and He knows us. He knows we really trust in Him for our needs. He sees our faith, and He rewards that faith for those who take refuge in Him.
