Examining the Work
There is a leadership principle that I believe is very true. People do not always do what you expect, but they do what you inspect. I have found that to be the case as I have worked with others, and I have found it true in my own life. That is why we have tests in school, and we have performance reviews at work. Moses knew that the work they were doing on the Tabernacle was of the utmost importance to the Lord and His kingdom work. Therefore, when the workmen told him they were finished with their work, Moses examined all of the work. (Exodus 39:43) In fact, Moses examined all of the work, and he found that they had done it just as God had commanded it to be done. So Moses blessed them for their work. I believe this applies to how God will examine all of our work one day.
We are not saved from our sins to sit in a pew, sing some songs, and hear a message from the pastor each week. We are saved and set apart for the Lord's service. We are saved to serve in the specific way that God designed us to serve, and to do the things that He ordained for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10) This is why He gives every believer gifts of the Holy Spirit. Those gifts are not so much for us, but for the people whom we serve. Unfortunately, many believers do not even know their gifts, and they do not spend time seeking the Lord, so He can direct them in how to use those gifts each day, so how can they serve well? Please, don't be guilty of this, because one day God will examine all of our work, which He has commanded us to do. He will not skip over any of it. Then, He will issue a blessing based on how we did His work in His way. That blessing will have something to do with how we spend our eternity in heaven, I believe. (I Corinthians 3:10-15) That is why our obedience to God in how we serve Him is so vital, and it is why He will examine our work so carefully. It could make a difference for us for eternity, but it could also impact the eternal destiny of many others, as well.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Exodus 40 and Leviticus 1-2.
