Fully Trained
Christians are not saved to sit. We are saved from our sins, so we can serve the Lord. It is not menial service, but it is very important service. We are His disciples. He is our Teacher. We are to learn from Jesus, so we can be fully trained to serve Him according to His perfect will for our lives. Then, we are to live the rest of our lives doing the good works He has laid out for us in the way He trained us. So, I have a question for all of us. Are we fully trained disciples of Jesus Christ? Jesus told us how we can tell if we are fully trained. This is vital for all of us, as believers.
A disciple follows a teacher. We are to follow Jesus. We are to observe what He did and what He said by reading the Word of God and meditating on it. Then, we are to ask the Spirit to conform us to the same image, the image of Christ. (Romans 8:29) Believe me, the Spirit will do that, if we are sincere, because that is God's purpose for saving us. Therefore, we know we are fully trained when we have become like Jesus. We pray like Jesus, teach like Jesus, share the truth like Jesus, and witness to others like Jesus. In order to do all of these things, we must think like Jesus and love like Jesus, too. So how are you doing? Are you fully trained? If not, then there is a lot to discipline yourself to learn and to do, now is the time to start.
