God's Gracious Provision
Because God is love, He always treats us graciously. His love causes Him to make meeting our needs a priority. His grace leads Him to do more for us than we ever deserve. He is a wonderful blessing to each of us. How is that you may ask? He did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, so we could have our sins forgiven and receive eternal life. Sin is our greatest need, and He paid for our sins, so we could have forgiveness and life. Now, if He would do that for us, why would He not also graciously give us what we need for living the rest of the Christian life? (Romans 8:32) We need to ponder those two realities until they become fixed in our hearts.
Jesus did not have to come to save us, but He did it out of love. (John 3:16) He took the worst punishment possible and the weight of all of our sins upon Himself, so we could be set free from our sins, once and for all. Don't you think God really loves us, if He would send His Son that way for us? OK then, why would He leave us hanging after that? He invested the life of His Son in us to provide the gift of salvation. Therefore, He is prepared to provide all the things we need to be like Jesus and to live the genuine Christian life. We never can make the excuse that we can't do His will, if we know Jesus. All we have to do is to cry out to Him in faith, and He will graciously meet our spiritual needs to do whatever He has for us to do. Try it, and see if this is not how He works.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Romans 9-11.
