God's Physical Blessings
Many times God chooses to bless those who are faithful to Him with physical blessings.(Deuteronomy 34:7) These blessings are not automatically given to every believer, but is is God's nature to bless us physically because He cares for us. He knows what we need and what He has for us to do, so He blesses us perfectly based on His wisdom and love.
God knows that serving Him is difficult. He knows that it takes physical strength, as well as spiritual power. Therefore, He gives us extra grace in the physical things, when we are doing His will. Moses lived to be 120 years old. It was more common for people to live longer then, but Moses was blessed with a longer life, at least partly, because God had a mission for Him to accomplish in bringing Israel to the Promised Land. Also, his eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished, because he needed that physical stamina to do God's will.
We should not serve God just to receive His blessings. We should serve Him out of love and faith. However, it is a great blessing for us to know that when we are faithful, God is always so good to meet our every need, even physical needs so often, when we are on mission for Him.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Joshua 1-3.
