Praise is Beautiful
The psalmist tells us that praising the Lord is beautiful.(Psalm 147:1) This is an interesting word and a very meaningful way to describe true praise. Another translation says that praise is becoming. That is a word we don't use much as an adjective. Praise is becoming on you. It makes you look nice. So, how beautiful are you? How becoming are you to the Lord?
Praise is to be a constant in our lives. Over and over we are exhorted in Psalms to praise the Lord. Paul told us the same thing when he said rejoice always. Praise is to be continually in our hearts and in our mouths. God is to be praised in all we do and say.
When we live a life of praise, we are beautiful to God and to others. When we gather with a group of believers or a church family to praise the Lord, it is beautiful. It is pleasant, and it is very fulfilling. The opposite is also true. A life without praise is ugly and unbecoming. Let's decide to be people of praise.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalm 150 and Proverbs 1-2.
