Life Change
Christianity is not a philosophy to be followed. It is a relationship with the God of the universe. There is no religion that brings salvation from sin. Only knowing Christ as Lord and Savior assures us of salvation. How can we know that we are saved from our sins? The Bible is clear. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, a new person. Old things have passed away, and new things have come.(II Corinthians 5) Life change is the assurance of our salvation. Jesus said that a tree is known by its fruit. A good tree bears good fruit, and a bad tree bears bad fruit. Good fruit only comes by the power of God changing us from a lost sinner to a child of God. Jesus told Nicodemus that he had to be "born again" to have eternal life. He had to be a new person. There had to be a radical change. In fact, Romans 6 tells us in no uncertain terms that our "old man" is dead, and we have been raised in the newness of life.
Yes, God honors His promises. All who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. When we call on the Lord, and Jesus saves us, He makes us new. Yes, if you trust the Lord Jesus Christ, who died for you and rose again, you will be saved, and you will know it has happened because there will be changes in your life that can only be explained by the power of God. Please, Don't take my word for it. Read what the Bible says. Don't just take what a preacher or your parents told you. There is no second-hand salvation. Think about Zacchaeus. He had a totally different attitude and different lifestyle from the moment he trusted Christ. He is not the exception. That is how Jesus works in His children.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Ezekiel 11-13.
