Grieving
One of the most difficult things for any human being is grief. When we lose a loved one, we go through a process of grieving. It takes time to walk through all of the hurt, the questions, the sadness, and even the anger of the loss. It is very complicated for anyone to do alone. The Lord doesn't ever want that to happen. He wants to walk with us "through the valley of the shadow of death." He wants to assure us that He knows the answers to all of the questions, even the ones He doesn't share with us. He is in control, and He wants us to trust Him as our Lord, so we know that He can bring good out of anything that happens. Yes, we can't handle all of the grief ourselves, but He makes the load much lighter when we give it to Him. He is there to hold us up. He is there to carry us when we can't go any more.
Grieving is necessary because we must work through the pain, so we can see what we need to do to go on with our lives and to have joy in spite of our loss. Over time God brings this to reality, when we trust Him and lean on His understanding, instead of our own.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Ezekiel 8-10.
