Thankful for Jesus
This morning was our quarterly Lord's Supper service. The theme was giving thanks for God's blessings of the previous year. We took time to allow the members of the congregation to give short testimonies about how God had worked in their lives or in the lives of their friends and relatives. It was great. The majority of the folks were genuinely thankful and ready to share their words of thanks with everyone there. It made us see just how much we have to be thankful for, even when times are hard.
The main thing we have to be thankful for is Jesus. He is our Lord, and He is our everything. Without Him we have nothing. He holds the molecules of the universe together, and He watches over all of us. Yes, bad things happen, but He can and will turn them into good things if we acknowledge Him and live by faith in Him. I hope we all know Him as the One who cares about our every need. I can't wait to see Him and tell Him thank you face to face.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 66-67 and Romans 7.
