Being Loyal to the Lord
I have been thinking about being loyal to the Lord ever since I read II Chronicles 16 the other day in my Bible reading. I shared it with the Wednesday evening group last night, too. It is a term that we do not usually associate with our relationship with the Lord. We speak about being faithful to Him and trusting Him, more than we talk about being loyal. However, loyalty is just as important. What is the difference? Don Wells had a good definition yesterday when he said that being loyal was always sticking with someone. The always is the key word. We can be faithful sometimes, and we can trust God most of the time, but loyal denotes a strong continuing relationship. God is looking for those who are loyal so He can bless them by showing Himself strong to them. Do you need some strength in your life? Our strength comes from the Lord. It comes from the joy of the Lord, and it comes from being loyal to Him.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Chronicles 25-27 and John 16.
