God is Serious about His Warnings
I can remember times in my life when I corrected my kids, but they did not listen to me or do what I told them to do. So I told them again, and they ignored me again. Finally, I had to say, "I am serious about this so you better do it, or I will spank you." That is what it took to get their attention and have them obey me. That is what God has to do with us sometimes, and then, we still don't take His warnings seriously. That is a huge mistake.
God showed Ezekiel in graphic detail just how He was going to destroy Jerusalem and take the people who survived into exile if they did not listen and obey Him. Once He carried out His punishment, the people would get His point. (Ezekiel 6:10) "They will know that I alone am the Lord and that I was serious when I said I would bring this calamity on them." Then, it would be too late for many of them. Let's not make the same mistake.
We need to stop listening to other people, to this world around us, and to the devil as he draws us away from the Lord to follow idols of all kinds. We need to take God seriously. He alone is the Lord. We must not listen to anyone else but Him. He loves us, and He is warning us, so He doesn't have to send calamity upon us. Please, don't make Him carry out His warnings.
The Bible is plain. The wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23) That could mean physical death, and it most certainly means spiritual death. If we don't turn from our sins, put our trust in Jesus to forgive our sins, and surrender to Him, as Lord, we will end up in hell for eternity. God doesn't want that, but it is up to us to decide to love Him and trust Him. He will bring other results of our sins, also, because He is warning us that the worst is still ahead if we don't follow Jesus. Please, let's take God seriously, so we can live in His love in heaven for eternity.
