Bondservant of Jesus Christ
Here in the United States we put a lot of emphasis on being free and independent. We think that the greatest thing in life is to do just what we want to do. We do not want anyone telling us what to think or what to do. I know that can be good in many ways, but it is very harmful, too. If we have that mindset about the Lord, it destroys our chances to live the Christian life, as we should.
Paul had the right way of looking at life. Once He came to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, He surrendered all to Him. (Romans 1:1) This is how he introduced himself to the people of the church at Rome. "Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God." I know we don't have the exact same calling as Paul, but we can learn a lot from this verse.
Jesus is Lord. If we know Him, we are His servants. The best life we can ever live is to do what our Lord tells us to do. We should always live as a bondservant of Jesus, listening for Him to speak and ready to do whatever He says for us to do. He died and rose for our salvation, so we should live for Him every day. We should know that our way is not what is best, but His will and His way are the best for us.
Also, Paul was an "apostle." That means he was one "sent out" to share the Lord Jesus with others who need to now Him. He gave his life to that task, and he went all over the world, as God guided him. That is really what every Christian is called to do. We don't have to go to other countries. There are plenty of people right here who don't know the Lord, so we are sent to them, since we know the Good News, and we are separated from this world by Jesus and separated to the gospel which if the power of God to salvation.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Romans 2-6.
