The King's Servants
As Christians, we owe everything to our Lord Jesus Christ. He loved us so much that He came to redeem us from our sins by dying on a cross and shedding His perfect blood as the payment for our sin debt. No one else could have done that except Jesus, the God/Man, the sinless Son of God. Now, He has given us the Holy Spirit, and He is praying for us day and night, so we can live the abundant life.
King David was a great king. He was not perfect, and his sins caused him to have serious family problems with his sons. However, David's servants realized his greatness as a leader. (II Samuel 15:15) His servants said to the king, "We are your servants, ready to do whatever my lord the king commands." I believe we need to make this same commitment to our King Jesus.
I wonder how many of us are really willing to do whatever the Lord Jesus commands us to do? This is only true if we are doing everything that the Word of God commands us to do. We all should be reading all of God's Word, and as we read, we should carefully commit to do whatever it says. If we know of anything we are not doing now, we should confess it as sin and start obeying it immediately.
I wonder how many of us as will go anywhere and do anything that Jesus tells us to do? God could tell us to move to a new place away from friends and family, like He told Abraham. Would we do it? The Lord could tell us to go to our neighbor and love them well, so we could have an opportunity to share Christ with them. Would we do that? I pray for all of us to be ready to do whatever our Lord Jesus commands us to do.
