Two Types of Salvation
The word salvation means to be delivered from something harmful. We use the word for all types of deliverance which we experience. We can be saved from harm when a tornado passes by or a hurricane engulfs us. We can be saved from death when we contract a serious disease. Also, we can be saved from a financial difficulty. However, Jesus is the ultimate Savior who gives us two types of salvation.
The book of Hebrews gives us a lot of details about how Jesus is able to save us. Then, it shows us a glorious picture of what has happened and what will happen. (Hebrews 9:28) Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him. See what I mean.
The first time Jesus came to this earth He came to die on the cross and bear our sins in His body. He died in our place, as the Father placed all of our sins upon Him, and He paid the price of His perfect blood, so our sins could be forgiven. Those who put their trust in Jesus alone for their salvation shall be saved from their sins once for all. They are freed from the burden and curse of sin forever.
The second time Jesus comes He will come for salvation, but not with reference to sin. His second coming will not have anything to do with reference to salvation from sin, because then it will be too late for anyone to trust Him as Lord and Savior. The second time Jesus will come to save us from this fallen world. He will come to take us to heaven and be saved from suffering, sickness, crying, and death. This salvation is for all of us who know Him and are eagerly awaiting Him. I pray you will experience both types of salvation as you trust Jesus.
