Perfected in Unity
This world is in such turmoil. There is every type of confusion, and people are so divided. This is especially seen in the election that is taking place. There is no unity in our country. People are not even trying to come together for the good of our country. I just wonder what the rest of the world thinks about us when they see these things happening.
Jesus prayed a lengthy prayer just before He went to the cross for our salvation. He prayed for His disciples and for all who would ever come to believe in Him through their ministry. (John 17:23) He talked with the Father saying that He was in them, and the Father was in Him, so that they could be perfected in unity. When that unity was exhibited to all the world, people would know that God had sent Jesus into the world, and that He had loved them, just as the Father loved the Son. This is a powerful truth for us, as believers, today.
There should never be divisions among believers. Yes, I know we have differing beliefs on non-essentials, and there are denominations. That is not what I am talking about. There should not be a time when we do not have perfect unity with other believers because we have Christ in us. We are one family. We are loved by God, and we are to love each other in that unity.
If we will make sure that happens, the world will see the difference in us. They will know it is a supernatural unity and love, because the world could never achieve it. That will draw people to Jesus so they came live in that harmony with others instead of strife and divisions. Let's do our part to see this happen.
