Love Like Jesus
We use the word love to mean a lot of different things. We say that we love a good book or a delicious meal. We tell others that we love cool weather or warm weather. We even use the word love to describe a game of baseball or football. I believe we really should use the word love less and make it a very special word when we do use it.
Jesus gave us a way to gage if our love is really the kind of love that we should have in our heart and share with other people. It is fairly simple to grasp, but it is a challenge to accomplish. (John 15:12) Jesus gave us all this commandment. He commanded us to love one another as He has loved us. Jesus modeled love for us, so we can recognize true love and live it out.
Jesus left His comfortable place in heaven and came to this earth out of love for all of us. He was God who became a man, so He had the divine nature and a human nature. Therefore, since God is love, Jesus was love in a body. He always spoke in love and acted in love, even when He had to correct others. That is how we should love others.
Jesus came from heaven, so He could give His life for all of us. He was willing to die that we might have life eternal by having faith in Him. His love was a sacrificial love. Also, His love was unconditional. Jesus loved everyone and died for everyone. This shows us that there should never be a time when we don't love everyone, and when we are not willing to give our life for another person. Now, that is love, so let's make sure we love like Jesus.
