Teaching God's Word

I know that there are many people who do not think that the founding fathers of the United States were Christians, but a good number of them were believers. One thing that can't be denied is that once schools were established, the Bible was used as a text for the children to learn to read. Basically, they were being taught the Bible while learning their other subjects.

King Jehoshaphat of Judah knew that the people needed to know the Word of God, so they could live by it and prosper. So he sent his officials, with priests and Levites to teach them. (II Chronicles 17:9) They taught the book of the Law of the Lord throughout all of the cities of Judah and among the people. If we did this today, it would have a great influence on our country.

The Word of God is truth. We need a huge dose of truth today. God inspired the Bible, so we can know His will and His way of living. When we live according to God's Word, we will see the blessings of God in various ways. However, until people are taught, they don't know what to do or how to do it.

This is why we need teach God's Word in every way we can in our churches and in our communities. We need to have home Bible studies and invite our neighbors. We need to have more Christian schools, so our children can be taught the Bible from a young age. We need to make sure we do all we can to ensure that all people know God's Word.
