God's Blessings on God-fearing Families

 The family is under attack today. The people of this world just don't understand the importance of families. They want to make having a lasting marriage optional, and they want to bring children into the world without any real support in the long term. We are seeing this doesn't work.

God's will is for us to fear Him and do His will. (Psalm 128:1,3) The psalmist noted how joyful are those who fear the Lord - all who follow His ways. The wife shall be like a fruitful grapevine within her home. The children will be like vigorous young olive trees, as they sit around the table. That is God's blessing for God-fearing families.

In one word these families are productive. They are not dysfunctional. They function as God designed, so that both the husband and the wife see the fruit of their labors. The children are brought up to produce good things, not to waste their lives on frivolous pursuits. That has always been God's plan.

As believers, we need to be sure that we fear the Lord in the right way. We revere Him, and we have a very healthy respect for His power to punish us and our families, if we fail to follow Him. This will enable us to see God's blessings now, and for many years in the future, through our children and grandchildren.
