God Scattering His Enemies
God is fully capable to taking care of Himself. He is All-powerful, and He is All-wise, so there is no enemy who can defeat Him in any way. When we belong to the Lord, He is with us. He is our strong right arm to scatter our enemies for us and to allow us to move forward in our lives to accomplish His will. God never leaves us or forsakes us, but we must depend on Him all of the time. That is just what Moses and the Israelites did as they traveled through the desert. (Numbers 10:34-35) Each time the cloud of the Lord, which hovered over the Ark of the Covenant, started moving, the people would follow as God commanded. Whenever the Ark set out, Moses would shout, "Arise, O Lord, and let Your enemies be scattered. Let them flee before You." Sounds like a great way for us to start on our journey each day, too.
I pray we all know that we cannot defeat our enemies in our own power. Satan is our enemy, and He is not in any way as powerful as God, but he is far more powerful than we are. If we get up and start out our day on our own, Satan will attack us at our most vulnerable point, and we will give in to the temptation he presents. That will begin our day with sin, and things will go downhill from there unless we get right quickly. We need to start each day with the filling of the Spirit, by confessing any sins and surrendering to Him. Then, we need to follow God's path for us by listening to the Spirit every step of the way. Of course, we need to put on "God's Armor," the Whole Armor of God. (Ephesians 6:10-18) Then, God promises to scatter our enemy, Satan, and anyone or anything he sends against us. That is God's plan, and we should stick to it.
