Hiding from the Lord

Many people try to hide what they are planning and doing from the Lord. They think if they keep their plans a secret from other people, that no one will ever know what they are going to do. They think they can do what they do in secret, and no one will see them. Nothing could be farther from the truth. God told Isaiah to pronounce "Woe" upon this type pf people. (Isaiah 29:15) Woe means that they will not find success, but instead, they will be hurt by their self-deception. They really think, "Who sees us or who knows us?" Well, God sees everything they plan and do. He knows them much better than they know themselves. He will make sure they are not successful in what they do.

Self-deception is a terrible problem to have. Yes, we can deceive ourselves into believing that reality is opposite of the truth. We can convince ourselves that we can hide from God, because we do not want to believe in the All-Seeing, All-Knowing God. Once we start deceiving ourselves, we are living in the dark. We do not let the light of God's truth come through. The only thing that causes us to wake up is when God brings our secret plans to light, and when He shows us who we really are. That is a rude awakening for many people. In fact, some people never accept that they have truly done that. They continue to play games with life. Life is not a game. Truth is reality. We must accept truth and live according to God's rules, because He is watching, and He knows us. One day, He will bring all of our plans and actions to the Judgment time, and He will show us everything we have done wrong. We do not want that to happen. We want to walk in the light and live by His direction, so He can reward us and be happy with our life instead.
