God Summons His Servant

God is very active in the choosing of leaders in this world. He is sovereign, so there is no leader who ascends to power without God causing it or allowing it. This is true for all nations at every time. Yes, we have elections, but God's plan is behind who wins. In other cases, He is behind the one who comes to power by other means than an election. We all need to accept this reality based on the fact that God is in control, and He works everything according to His plan. We are able to see this with Eliakim, son of Hilkiah. (Isaiah 22:20,23) The Bible tells us that God "summoned" him to take the throne of his father. God made him strong by driving him as a peg in a firm place. The result was that he became a throne of glory to his father's house. What does that say to us today? Let's consider it today.

Some leaders are strong and some are weak. God knows the heart of every ruler, and He knows the hearts of the people over whom the leader will rule or govern. In His wisdom, God is very capable of matching the right leader to the right people at the right time.  Sometimes, God does this based on the righteousness of the people or the ruler. At other times, God bases His decision on the sins of the people or the ruler. God is the Only Fair Judge of all motives and actions. He is the only One Qualified to make sure we have the leaders and rulers we need and/or deserve. This is why we need a revival in America. We need a strong leader, like Eliakim, whom God will establish, and who will be a glory to his father's house. Too often, we end up having a weak leader, who is not righteous, and he brings shame on his father's house. Please, join me in praying for revival in the land and for God to give us righteous leaders to govern us. Otherwise, we will get what we deserve, which is not very good.
