You Who Hear Prayer

I doubt if there is anyone who has ever been born who has not prayed at some time. It is a almost a universal belief that we need to call out to someone beyond us for help and guidance. Even people who end up deciding to be atheists pray to God before something causes them to reject the existence of God. We are born with an awareness of the spiritual realm and eternity. People have to decide otherwise on their own. David saw this to be true. (Psalm 65:2) That is why he cried out to the one who hears prayer. He acknowledged that all people come to Him for help. This might seem simple for some people, but it is really complicated if you think about it. Let's do that.

There are over 8 billion people in the world now. Even if 1% of those people decided to pray at one time that is 80 million people speaking to God at the same time. See what I mean? Also, these people would be praying in hundreds of languages. Therefore, God has to be able to listen to each one and interpret their languages. This shows us that God is outside of time and space. That enables Him to give each of us 100% of His attention at any time. God has all knowledge, too. Therefore, He is fluent in every language, so that He understands every detail and all of the emotions being expressed. Finally, He is all-wise, all-loving, and all-powerful, so He can answer every prayer request, no matter how difficult it might be for us. Then, we see that He hears our prayer, and He cares for us. He can hear all of the prayers of everyone, believers and non-believers, and He perfectly decides how to answer just in the right way. He knows just when to say yes, no, or wait to the requests. Now, that is surely a Mighty God! Just think of all of the miraculous ways that He has answered your prayers. Prayer tells us a lot about God, doesn't it?
