The Power to Make Wealth

Wealth is not a bad thing. Work is not bad either. In fact, God made us to work and to make wealth. Look at Adam in the Garden of Eden. God gave him the job of keeping the garden from the very beginning. God accomplishes His will for us through the work we do, as we follow His will for us. Then, we realize our power to make wealth comes from God, not ourselves. (Deuteronomy 8:17,18) It is part of God's plan for us, and it shows us that He is faithful to take care of His children. That is what He did for the Israelites when He brought them into the land of Canaan, and that is what He does for us, as Christians, today.

All wealth belongs to God. He created everything, and He is sovereign over His creation. He gives wealth to some and withholds it from others. He knows that wealth can be used for good or for evil. It can bring blessings or harm. Yes, there are some very ungodly people who are very wealthy. They use that wealth in the wrong way, as the world, the flesh, and the devil lead them. God allows this because they have rejected His revelation of Himself to them, so He turns them over to their reprobate minds to do what they want to do, which is evil. (Romans 1;18ff) At the same time God blesses His people to make wealth and to use it for good to combat the forces of evil in this world. The key is for believers to trust the Lord, to make the wealth the Lord wants us to make, and to use it in ways that are according to His will for us and our world. Just think if every believer did that what a difference it would make in this world. I pray we will be committed to giving God praise for giving us the ability to make wealth, and we would all use it for His kingdom, so we can see our world transformed for the better.
